Frequently Answered Questions

Is Martial Arts right for me?

We believe Martial Arts is right for everyone. We are happy to work around injuries, limitations as well as teach every age group. The only way to figure out if the Dojo is right for you is to try a class and see for your self! There are a ton of physical and mental benefits to the martial arts. Check out on of our blogs linked below.

What type of Martial Arts do you teach.

We teach a few different types. We start with Kempo and slowly add other martial Arts such as Jeet Kun Do, Kali, and Jiu Jitsu. We focus all of our training on self defense and practical application as opposed to just sport and teach a variety so we cover any situation and any range!

What does a class look like?

We encourage everyone to show up 10-15 minutes early to do on of our posted warm ups. We always have one that is more fitness oriented, and one focusing on material. After that you will join your class with 1-4 other students around the same age, rank, and size. Interested in why we run our school this way?

Where can I find your schedule?

We don't have a schedule posted for regular classes. We schedule classes with each family in a semi-private lesson of 2-5 kiddos of age and rank groups. Because of our semi-private structure our schedule can have little changes from week to week. Feel free to call or text us if you would like to know available times to try a class!

Do you teach self control?

This is one of our favorite questions. We have a lot of concerns regarding control when learning to punch someone. We have a saying, we train today so we can train tomorrow. Control, physically, mentally, and emotionally, is the basis used to learn everything else martial arts has to teach. Integral to our training we learn the 5 values, Attitude, Integrity, Respect, Self Control, and Heart as a foundation for control as a whole. After martial arts is to avoid a confrontation. How do you progress through ranks?

For each rank we require 5 stripes. Each stripe is a separate set of moves, techniques, or skills to progress. We don't have a set number of classes to progress, every progression is based off of skill which means some stripes or belts might take longer than others but it usually evens out in the end. The one exception is the 5th stripe, which in addition to demonstrating you are set on all your other rank material you have to complete a SMART goal or Ninja Mission. If you want to know what those are click below.

Who will be teaching classes?

All students are taught by the owners Sensei Jeff, and Sensei Walker. Between the both of them they have been training for nearly 40 years and teaching for almost 25. We believe this is the only way we can get to know every student and teach the way they need to learn and consistently offer the best instruction.
